HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
First Aid Level 2 (HLTAID011 Provide First Aid) Training and re-accreditation for all workplaces, including primary and secondary schools, will be provided using the mixed mode format. This format requires participants to complete a workbook theory component prior to attendance of the one day practical session. This workbook is provided to the students by MSA Training and Professional Development. Students will be assessed on a combination of practical activities, a written assessment and on the completion of the workbook theory component.
The ability to perform first aid is an essential life skill that can sometimes mean the difference between life and death. First aid skills are also often required across a range of workplaces. Alongside basic first aid skills such as CPR, this First Aid Level 2 course provides training for dealing with fractures, asthma and bites and stings.
Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for the following unit of competency: HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.
To ensure your certificate remains current, you will need to take the CPR refresher every twelve months and re-take the HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course every three years.
This course is inclusive of CPR.
This course covers the following:
- CPR
- Allergic Reactions
- Bleeding control
- Choking and airway obstruction
- Fractures, Sprains and strains,
- using a arm sling, roller bandages or other appropriate immobilisation techniques.
- Respiratory distress
- Asthma
- Shock Management
- Bites and Stings
- Anaphylaxis & more
You will need to complete pre reading and a workbook prior to attending your class, this will take on average 2 hours. Please ensure you enrol with enough time for us to send you the book and for you to complete the activities prior to class.

Paul Hill
Paul is a knowledgeable and passionate trainer with extensive experience and numerous qualifications in Medical Emergencies and Mental Health. Paul’s industry experience, which includes developing and facilitating state wide nationally recognised training to working with clients to create emergency management plans, ensures he provides his students with the most relevant and up to date training.
Peter Hamilton
Peter has been training for over 20 years within a number of Medical Emergency courses. Prior to his extensive training experience, he worked as an Ambulance Officer in which he was able to gain valuable knowledge which led him on his path to become an IPS Ambulance Training Manager.
Peter brings a vast knowledge of the ins and outs of medical emergencies, preparing for emergency situations and much more.
