Mental Health First Aid

This Mental Health First Aid course is suitable for all workplace and community contexts and is particularly recommended for those working in the human services and health sectors. Participants will gain skills in recognising common mental health problems, develop knowledge of possible causes and learn how to provide initial support to those in need.

You will learn how to assist adults who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence-based action plan.

This Mental Health First Aid course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and industry professionals. It is an education course, to learn how to give first aid to others, and is not a therapy or support group.

This is a blended Mental Health First Aid course comprising two Zoom classes of 2.5 hours each plus an online component which takes approximately six hours to complete.

This course is run by PD Training Services and is accredited by Mental Health First Aid Australia.

Now being run remotely via Zoom! No on-campus attendance required. Zoom meetings are conducted in real-time at the dates and times specified below. Zoom meetings are just like being in the classroom but from the comfort and safety of home. Find out more here.
